Elecsol leisure batteries

Elecsol batteries are one of the best-performing leisure batteries on the market. Unlike conventional leisure batteries, they incorporate strands of carbon fibre in the lead plates. Carbon fibre adds strength, allowing the plates to be built thinner and lighter, but also acts as a wick, drawing the battery acid deep into the plates and greatly increasing the effective surface area.

The addition of carbon fibre makes Elecsol batteries highly resistant to sulphation, which is the usual cause of failure in caravan and boat domestic battery banks. They can recover from high depths of discharge, and can be cycled more often than conventional leisure batteries. They do last longer than the average leisure battery - so the slightly higher price you pay up front for them is easily recouped in the long run!

Elecsol batteries can deliver high currents, so can be used for engine starting or for running inverters.

Elecsol batteries come with a five year warranty if used in approved applications, which includes use in caravans, motorhomes, yachts, cruisers and narrowboats. Other applications will not be covered. In order for the warranty to be valid, the battery must be properly maintained - it must not be over-charged, over-discharged, or left in a discharged state. A solar panel with a good quality regulator is an ideal way of maintaining a battery in a good condition!
