The Unisolar PVL68 is the most elegant power solution we have discovered for narrowboats and caravans. The panels can be stuck to any suitable flat or gently curved surface. They have an extremely low profile of only 4mm, and the cables exit through the bottom of the panel so there is no unsightly junction box to spoil the aesthetically pleasing looks of this remarkable panel. They will churn out power for years with no maintenance at all. A superb bit of kit! To see the panels in situ, take a look at the pictures of "Hornblower", a Cambridge-based narrow boat.
The panels are available with either top exit or bottom exit wires. The bottom exit wires give the neatest installation and don't need any external cables, but they do require two small holes to be drilled in the roof.
The top exit wires come ready mounted with MC connectors, and included in the kit are either a pair of ready-fitted MC bulkhead connectors to pass through your roof, or a pair of outdoor-rated cables complete with ready-fitted mating MC connectors to route inside as you choose. This kit comes complete with a SunSaver 6A regulator, and appropriate cables and connectors. The PVL68 watt solar panel kit includes:
- Unisolar PVL68 solar panel
- Sunsaver 6A solar regulator
- 2 x 3m cables with appropriate connector for connection between the solar panel and the regulator.
- 2 x 1.5m cables with appropriate connectors for connection between regulator and battery, and an in-line fuse to protect the system
Our kits are supplied as standard with a 3m length of cable between the panel and the regulator, and a 1.5m length of cable between the regulator and the battery connectors. If you require different lengths, please advise us by email when you order so we can make up appropriate cables. We make no extra charge for cables up to 5m between panel and regulator, or 2m between regulator and battery. There may be a small surcharge for longer lengths.
