Why go solar?
Solar is the hassle-free way to generate clean energy. Solar panels are relatively easy to install - wiring a solar panel can be as simple as leading a pair of wires from the panel to a regulator, and another pair of wires from the regulator to the battery.
Solar panels require very little maintenance. They'll benefit from an occasional wipe clean - but even if you can't be bothered with that, they'll still be producing at least some power!
Solar panels last a long time. Many manufacturers offer a 20-year warranty on the power output from the panels. With no moving parts, there is very little to go wrong.
For small power needs, solar panels are cost-effective - they'll easily pay for themselves in a few years compared to a diesel generator for example.
Everywhere has some solar potential. True, Britain isn't as sunny as some places - but in fact we don't do as badly for solar power as you would think. There is less sunlight in winter - but it is predictable, and you can be sure of getting at least some power at all times of the year.
Solar panels are an investment for the future - once they have paid back the initial cost, they will produce clean, carbon-free energy for a lifetime.
