This is where it all started! Midsummer Energy's founder, Andy, has lived on 'Coroskier' for the last 8 years, and fitted it with solar panels to provide all the domestic electricity.
The panels are Unisolar US32 and US42 units, which are unfortunately out of production at the moment - although the slightly larger Unisolar US64 is still available. They were taken out of their aluminium frames and glued to the roof, so they are very discreet.
We wouldn't recommend doing this now! Much easier to use the fantastic Unisolar adhesive-backed flexible panels, which will bond to the roof for a smart, long-lasting solution.
Coroskeir uses 12V energy efficient lighting, both fluorescent and LED strips, in order to maximise power from the solar panels. An inverter provides 240V power when needed.
