Powering a marine telemetry system

This client needed a dependable, year-round power source for remote telemetry equipment in a challenging marine environment; a fish farm in the Scottish highlands. Low sun, salt water spray and the legendary Scottish rain would all combine to give the equipment a real battering.
Our solution was to construct an exceedingly tough, self contained system that was completely waterproof and made entirely of non-corroding aluminium.
Designed to mount to directly on to a standard 48mm pole, it combines dependable solar power from a Sunware Yacht 48W panel with a super-reliable Forgen 500 turbine to charge a 55Ah gel battery. The battery and all wiring are sealed in a IP66-rated aluminium enclosure that is practically bomb-proof.
Easy to install, safe and zero maintenance, this custom-built system will power the client's equipment for years to come.
