Wiring solar panels and wind turbines together in the same system
If you want to use both wind and solar, then you have two options. First is to keep the two systems separate with separate regulators, batteries and the works and the second is to use a more complex regulator that is able to handle both solar and wind inputs.
A suitable regulator for this purpose is the Morningstar Tristar regulator which has separate terminals for wind and solar and can deal with the different flows of current from the two types of input.
Simply connect the input terminals of the regulator to the output cables from your wind turbine and solar panel, connect the output to the battery and both your devices should charge your battery in no time
