HRS Wind Turbine Regulator
tell me more
The HRS regulator should be wired between a Rutland 503 or 504 wind turbine and a 12V battery bank in order to prevent overcharging of the batteries. Regulation is achieved by pulse-width modulation, and the turbine is slowed down by the regulator as the batteries reach full charge.
Up to 100W of solar panels can be connected to the HRS in addition to the turbine itself. However, the regulator is fully diode-protected to allow charging from other sources as well, such as a larger solar array, an alternator or mains battery charger.
