Terms and conditions
Payment
Orders can be placed via this website, over the phone and by email. It is the customers responsibility to check that the details of quotes and proformas are correct before confirming the order (payment of a proforma and/or collection of a kit are to be taken as confirmation of the associated proforma or quote).
Unless you have credit terms with us payment must be made prior to despatch. We accept bank transfers, debit card payments online or over the phone, cheques, cash, bitcoins and credit cards. Trade customers are subject to PayPal and credit card transactions fees of 3% and 2% fees respectively.
Payment terms and credit limits on any credit facility offered are at the discretion of Midsummer Energy Ltd and subject to our Credit Terms. Late payment of invoices will lead to the removal or reduction of a credit facility.
We endeavour to keep our website accurate and fully up-to-date, and aim to fulfil orders promptly and to the full satisfaction of our customers. However, we do reserve the right to refuse orders at our sole discretion, to change the price and specification of items listed on the website, and to withdraw items from sale at any time.
Delivery
We aim to send items within 1-2 business days of an order being placed. Please note though that we can make no guarantee of delivery times - we are a small business, and there may be occasional periods when there is no-one available to send an order for a couple of days, or we may need to order in stock. However, we will let you know by email if there will be any delay to your order. If the delay is significant and you would rather not wait we will always be happy to refund any money you have paid.
Delivery is by courier. Timed and Saturday deliveries may be available for an additional charge. Title and risk in the goods passes to the buyer on delivery.
Although we are selective about which couriers we use, and aim to only partner with those offering reliable service, we do not guarantee timed or next day services.
Title and risk in the goods passes to the buyer on delivery. Should a timed service fail (for timed services, a 1hr grace period applies), we will reimburse for the timed service, but do not accept liability for any further costs arising from a failed delivery. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that someone will be available at the address given to receive, inspect and sign for the delivery and any delivery that is attempted but fails because no-one was there will be chargeable.

Tracking your order
You will normally receive an email with details on how to track your order. We can not guarantee to provide an ETA on orders that are booked on a next working day service. Please make sure to provide a mobile number, as for DPD deliveries you will then receive a text detailing a delivery window.
When your order arrives
As soon as you receive your order please check the contents. Any damage to the packaging or goods should be noted when you sign for the goods. While its rare for breakages to happen in transit, it can happen, so if you have ordered solar panels we very strongly recommend you check the panels BEFORE signing with the courier that it has been received in good condition. Else, please sign as unchecked. You should check the contents against the packing note or quotation that you have received. Any missing or damaged items should be reported to us within 24 hours by phone or email. Midsummer will not be liable for the cost of replacement goods if notified after this period.
Midsummer will refund for or replace any goods which arrive damaged (depending on photo evidence and damage discretion and severity), with replacements sent on a next day basis subject to stock availability, but will not be liable for any further costs arising from the arrival of damaged goods on site. Delayed deliveries and damage in transit can happen occasionally, and may impact installations planned for the day of delivery. That is a risk associated with delivering to site directly (offset by an operational saving on rent for storage of stock) and should be priced into the installation. Midsummer will work closely with customers to resolve issues as quickly and inexpensively as possible, but our financial liability for delays and damage in transit is strictly limited to the value of the order itself, including delivery.
Returns
If a product we sell proves to be defective, you should notify us immediately after purchase. We will take the goods back and replace the item or refund the money you have paid, including delivery costs, once we have tested the item(s) and confirmed a fault in the product. You may also return unwanted items within 30 days after purchase, provided they are still in their original, undamaged packaging. If you return an unwanted item, you are responsible for delivery of the item back to us, adequately insured, at your expense. We will refund the price of the item, but not the cost of delivering it to you.
Warranty
We endeavour to source all of our products from well-established manufacturers and suppliers. As standard, the products that we supply are covered by a 2 year workmanship warranty from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated. During this warranty period, Midsummer Energy will repair or replace, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.
When the warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the product (as stated in the product manual, datasheet or manufacturer website provided), this can be subject to change at any time. If you need to make a claim under warranty, please inform us in writing as the procedure can be different for different manufacturers.
Complaints
We aim to provide a helpful, friendly service. However, if you do find any cause for complaint, please get in touch, and we will do our best to resolve the problem to your satisfaction. In the unlikely event of a legal dispute, you agree to be governed by the laws of England, and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Acceptance
These Conditions are deemed accepted by the customer when products or services have been accessed or ordered by the customer.
